This is a prequel to Smokescreen2814's "Vanellope's rage." So if you don't know about that story, go ahead and read it before reading this story.

Rancis Fluggerbetter never really enjoyed bullying Vanellope. He only did it because the other racers did. He hated to watch Vanellope being tormented, only because he was a sweet, kind boy who loved peace and cared for others. To Candlehead, he'd say "ha!" Candlehead, as sweet and innocent she was, enjoyed bullying Vanellope.

Other than that, Rancis had another concern, and it's about Vanellope's power. Vanellope, for being a glitch, had a power called telekinesis, which enabled her to move things with her mind. So everytime when bullying, the racers had to suffer because of Vanellope's power.

Rancis was too tired of this. He wanted all the other racers to treat Vanellope with respect so that he can put an end to this madness. To do that, he had to stand up against the racers. However, if he did, his popularity would fall down and he would become an outcast, just like Vanellope. Rancis didn't know what to do. Stand up for Vanellope or not?

Finally, on November 7, 1998, Rancis made a choice. He had somehow managed to watch a real world movie named "Carrie." The movie was so scary, especially when Carrie White caused a disaster with her telekinesis. Throughout the movie, Rancis realized that Vanellope had a same power as Carrie and that bullying would not only cause harm for Vanellope, but it would also destroy the Sugar Rush community. By these thoughts, he felt very sorry for Vanellope and decided to stand up against the racers.

Rancis went to the racers and told them about his thoughts.

"Rancis, you're not becoming that glitch's boy, right?" Taffyta asked.

"I'm not becoming her boy! It's just that, aren't you tired of getting suffered by her power?" Said Rancis.

"What do you mean? I'm really enjoying bullying Vanellope!" Said Minty.

"Come on Rancis! We're just doing it for Sugar Rush." Said Jubileena.

"You may think like that Rancis. Because you're a peace loving boy." Said Candlehead.

"Whatever! I'm not gonna hang out with you guys anymore!" Rancis said angrily and left.

Taffyta crossed her arms while the other racers watched in confusion.

'This didn't really help at all. I better go to King Candy! Maybe he can understand me.' Rancis thought. He hopped into his Kit Kart and started driving to the castle.

At the castle, Rancis met King Candy and told him about his thoughts.

"You're not on that glitch's side, right Rancis?" King Candy asked.

"I'm not on her side, your majesty! I'm just afraid what if her power would cause a disaster in our game." Said Rancis.

"Don't worry Rancis. I understand what you're saying. I was also a bit worried about that problem."

"Really? Thank you so much sir! I was afraid what if you got angry at what I said."

"No problem, Rancis! And don't be worried! Because under my perfect governance, that disaster won't happen! Get it?"

"Got it, sir. Now I can rest assure."

"Yes, you can. You can go now."

"Okay, thanks sir."

Rancis got out of the castle, hopped into his kart, and started driving to his house. However, he was not fully relieved. He was still worried about the future of Sugar Rush. He came home, and lied on his bed with an uncomfortable heart, hoping what King Candy said is right.

But, the disaster became a reality many years later.
