Deep Reflection
A One-Shot by Kimberly Adams
This is the one-shot I mentioned of in my A Big Brother Like You one-shot! Basically, Lily finally leaves to Hogwarts, and Harry and Ginny reflect on their three children.
"The final one gone," Ginny told Harry as she rocked back and forth on her mother's old rocking chair.
"That leaves just us," Harry said, looking up from the Daily Prophet he was reading.
"I feel so old," Ginny said.
"What do you think I feel like?" Harry asked.
"Um…proud?" Ginny suggested.
Harry grinned. "Proud? How should I be proud? James' probably got seven hundred detentions and it's only his fifth year!"
"From everything you've told me, James is too much like your father," Ginny said.
"I suppose," Harry shrugged. "Albus is the shy, caring one."
"James cares, too," Ginny said. "It's just the Fred-and-George-Troublemaking-Phase that's come onto him."
"Let's hope it doesn't bother Al," Harry said.
Ginny smiled. "Lily looks like your mother. Only the green eyes are missing. Al got lucky with those."
"Al could be the mini version of me. James looks like my father, except for the hazel sort eyes."
"And Lily?"
"Lily looks like you when you were eleven."
"Right. I reckon someone's going to save her from a certain Chamber of Secrets?"
Harry laughed. "She's got two brothers! There's plenty of people to save her!"
"And there's Rose too, don't forget."
"How can I forget? And Hugo, too – he looks the splitting image of Ron!"
"Yes, he does. Hermione seems to be proud."
Harry grinned. "I'll really miss our little ones," he said.
"There're not that little anymore, are they?" Ginny said, grinning.
How was that?
