Dean is a righteous man. Thats what got him in trouble. The first seal was broken when he broke.
In Hell he had been tortured in way that are unimaginable. When he broke he was taken off the "rack" and started doing the tormenting. And he liked it.
Now after being almost beaten to death by a demon named Alister he tells his Castiel that he can't do it anymore.
