Chapter 1

-'We will strike Hard and fast, wiping out the Dark Eldar Scum,' '…Sir Yes sir '.-

Captain Narius, of the Crimson Fists Chapter, woke with those words ringing in his ears. He sat bolt upright as his thoughts recollected. Well, at least, he tried to. His thoughts gathered. All of a sudden an excruciating pain surged through his system, causing him to scream in agony! Then, it stopped. He looked around, in order to take in his surroundings.

He was lying on a short platform, with his feet hanging off the edge. This platform obviously wasn't meant to hold a Space Marine. He was bound to the table by blue beams of light, designed to hold him down. 'Hysrak-nai chai, tuynak garesth behas! Herynt semasith derac Feratis. Dusai therante grando' His power armour whined in protest, a whine that seemed to fill his ears, growing in volume until it was almost unbearable. Then it stopped, and the translating system kicked in, translating what had just been said.

'That shock you just felt, it was the lightning binders, one of my inventions! This is the torture chamber of the Dark Eldar star ship Feratis. Now, tell me who you are.'

'I am the messenger of justice,' said Captain Narius, remembering his first days as a space marine, where the newly transformed Marines had these answers drilled into them by a psychopathic Terminator, who had seen more battles than there were days in the year, in case they were ever captured and interrogated. He was glad now, that he had payed attention.

'Where are you from?'

'I am from the cosmos, sent to purge the universe of all evil.'

'Very well. We will get no more out of him than we did the others. Throw him into the holding cell.'

Those words struck him like a hammer. Others! There were others! Who were they? When were they captured? Were they from the same company as him, or were they from other companies, chapters, or even other races?

He was barely aware as he was thrown into his cell, he was so busy with his thoughts. Then he realized that there were people in other cells around him, people from various Imperial Guard armies, Cadian, Catachan, Valhallan and many more.

There were also Sisters of Battle and Space Marines of all chapters. This ship must be like a portable prison! Then, the biggest shock came. He looked to his left, and saw with amazement that sitting in the cell next to him was Captain Baserius, a member of his own chapter!

He was friendly with Baserius, as the had captained their squads together on many occasions, and had served on Armaggedon together in their youth. They were both fighting on New Rynn's world, and had been with the few remnants of the Chapter that had been away when the Chapter's Fortress monastery was destroyed. To see him here was an absolute shock!

'Baserius...Baserius!' he hissed out of the corner of his mouth. 'It's me! Narius!' Baserius looked around, trying to find the source of the voice, then did a double take as he saw Narius sitting in the cell on his right.

'Narius! What are you doing here! I thought you were back on Deeral's World, with the rest of our chapter?' 'I was, until about 2 weeks ago, when we were sent to investigate the disappearance of your chapter. What happened to the rest of your company Baserius? Where are they?' 'Narius.. They're.. they're all dead! The elder scum abducted me, and I woke up to see battle brother gareth raise the alarm.. Do you remember gareth, Narius? He was the one we always laughed at, he always broke the tension when we where down.. It took 12 of the dark elder scum to overcome him, he fought like a true hero."

Narius Sat In shock.Gareth, was the only other recruit from his homeworld, and they had always felt a bond, because, whilst most did not know it, Narius and Gareth were brothers.
