Prologue
The young boy pressed his back against the wall and listened carefully for footsteps. His ever-sensitive ears picked up only the sound of his heavy breathing. He clamped his jet-black eyes shut and took a deep breath. When he was certain the coast was clear, he released his breath as he stood up. He shifted slightly to the left then froze thinking he saw someone.
He relaxed and grinned slightly as he realized he just looked in his own reflection. He paused a moment to gather his wits and eye his reflection.
He was deathly pale from loss of blood and his face stood out viscously against his long mane of jet-black hair. His black eyes were wide and had long since lost the look of innocence that shone in his little brother's eyes.
Thinking about Kakarot was more than the boy could handle. He clamped his eyes shut to rid them of tears before he ran on pulling his long brown tail close to himself as he ran. He ran as fast as he could, knowing that he had an advantage, he knew this place.
He stopped and hid behind an old, broken pod as he watched them look round. There was seven in all, with pale, shiny skin and bugged out blue eyes. "We must find him" the leader snapped. "He can't have gotten that far."
The others nodded. They all wandered off in different directions leaving only one guard left. The boy prepared to attack the guard…until he recognized him.
"Nappa?" he whispered.
Nappa's Saiyan hearing picked up the hesitant whispered and jerked around. "Raditz" he called softly.
Raditz slowly and carefully pulled himself away from the garbage as he eyed the huge man. Nappa moved his jet-black eyes slowly toward the pod that Raditz had stood beside.
"Of course" he whispered.
Raditz stepped away from the garbage so that he faced Nappa. Nappa disappeared from in front of him and before Raditz could move, hi felt a hand on the back of his armor and then on his tail.
Raditz's entire body froze in immense pain. His breathing stopped almost completely.
Nappa picked up the small Saiyan and carried him easily inside the building. He headed quickly toward an active pod in the corner and shoved Bardock's first-born son in. He hit several buttons then sent him in space. "Good-bye Raditz. Be strong. Be Saiyan." With that he turned and returned to his guard position.
