In a world of uncertainty TenTen was absolutely sure of only three things:
1. She was a girl (she didn't need to be a medic to figure that one out).
She was a girl in a profession that was not what most girls dreamed of doing as they grew up. It was difficult, tiresome, stressful, and above all dangerous. In an environment where not only your mentality capability but your physical capability were always being tested, if a woman did not immediately establish an air of confidence and superiority or demonstrate a significant amount of skill they were often considered weak or useless and ignored until proven otherwise. This proved especially true on the battlefield. In TenTen's case, because she looked nowhere near as intimidating as her teammates, enemies often assumed her to be the weakest link and favored attempting to pick her off first, but considering the fact that TenTen was still very much alive and with only a few prominent scars it wasn't hard to figure out how that usually panned out.
2. Dating was difficult.
No matter who you were or how you grew up dating would always be one of the hardest things on Earth. She first became aware of this fact while watching Kakashi and Gai have another one of their contests. One might naturally think that Kakashi would win a dating contest fairly easily, but one might also not consider the fact that Gai was incredibly social as opposed to Kakashi's tendency to act like a hermit. The man was hot and generally pretty smooth but Gai knew way more people due to his loud and boisterous personality. In other words, Gai kicked his ass and Kakashi has not lived it down since. Remembering this always reminds TenTen of the strange surprises and intricacies that accompany dating. Sleeping with someone was one thing but dedicating yourself to them and spending a large majority of your time with them without wanting to rip your own heart out in confusion? Damn near impossible.
3. Sleep was an evasive little fucker.
