A/N: Hey guys! So I've read Divergent and I fell in love with it...and Tobias! ;) So I decided to write a collection of scenes from Divergent from Four's or any other character's point of view. I think people have done this before, but here is my take on it! If you have any suggestions on what scenes you would like me to write, leave them in the reviews!
DISCLAIMER: I do not own Divergent or any of the characters. Is my name Veronica Roth? No. So it's pretty obvious! :D

"Who do you think is gonna be the first jumper?" A voice echoes behind me.

I twirl towards Lauren who is emerging from the shadows, her jet black hair and piercing glistening.
I shrug, "You never know. Could be anyone." I reply simply.

"Well," she begins while tapping her ankle high leather boots, "my money's definitely not on an Erudite. Those smart asses haven't used a muscle in years, sitting behind their fancy little computers. Probably gonna spend hours up there, calculating the best trajectory to jump off the ledge."

I sigh; making sure it's barely audible. There you have it; classic Lauren, either bashing the Erudites or the Abnegation.

I hear a loud thud and turn around to see a petite blond girl laughing on the net. I faintly smile. Usually initiates screech in pain or look horrified after dropping. Plus, she's obviously fresh out of Abnegation; her hair is tightly knotted and she wears a gray shirt that is a little tight for Abnegation standards, but can't be from any other faction, either.

I reach out my hands along with Lauren. She grabs my left hand and I tug her towards the platform. She rolls off and stumbles, nearly falling, but I easily catch her. She is very light, perhaps just over 100 pounds.

She looks up at me. She has a slightly long nose and plump lips. Her blond hair is especially pale, but it still shines. Her eyes are an enchanting and mystifying light blue that you can get lost in; just like everything else vanishes when you gaze at the sky. She may not be gorgeous, but she is definitely beautiful.

She regains her balance and I quickly notice that I am still staring at her eyes and holding her tightly. I rapidly release her and glance at the wall to my right, scratching behind my ear. I hear her softly say "Thank you," and I mean to say you're welcome, but the words catch in my throat.

"Can't believe it," Lauren says from behind me, "A Stiff, the first to jump? Unheard of."

I suddenly feel the need to defend her, so the words leave me before I really have a chance to think.
"There is a reason why she left them, Lauren." I say hoarsely. I turn to the small girl. "What's your name?"

A troubled expression grows on her face and I recognize it; she must not be comfortable with her name, and wants a new one, to break away from her former faction. I had felt the same way when I was an initiate. "Think about it," I tell her, weakly smiling, "You don't get to pick again."

She looks up at me, "Tris," she says resolutely. Well, this Tris must be very confident; I can hear it in her voice.

"Tris," Lauren repeats with a grin. "Make the announcement, Four."

I look over my shoulder, beaming as I shout, "First jumper—Tris!"

A crowd of Dauntless join us on the platform, cheering for her. This is my favorite part of the initiation; everyone supporting the newcomers, routing them on. It's a warm welcome to the faction, but little do they know that it's not always like that here.

As another girl screams as she plunges into the net, everyone laughs and cheers. I look down at Tris again. She's smiling, looking amazed and excited. Something about her is different, intriguing. I want to know more. I'm going to have to keep an eye on her.

I gently place my hand on the small of her back and say, "Welcome to Dauntless."
