Chapter one:
Skyler Hail was looking in the mirror in her room. She looked at her long layered black hair, her pale face and traced under her eyes, she had dark purple circles under them, from lack of sleep. she looked down and traced over her arms with her finger tips, there were big purple bruises on them, five. two on her left and three on her right.
'how in the world' she said, her voice shaky.
'whats-' she left it hanging. Skyler looked at her legs and saw three more bruises.
She looked back at her face, and sighed. 'It's probably nothing.'
SKYLER? KAYLEE IS HERE' her dad, Mr. Hail called from below the stairs. Quickly she pushed down her sweat pants and pushed her black long sleeve shirt down,
'COMING' she yelled back. Skyler bolted down the stairs and ran straight for the door.
she flung it open and saw Kaylee standing there.
'Took you long enough Sky. What where you doing up there?' Kaylee smiled, as she joked.
'Nice to see you too bud.' Skyler said.
Skyler looked over her friend. She had bleach blond hair, that went to her bust line, it was very layered as well, Kaylee was pretty, she was average hight. thin as well, with big green eyes.
'So you going to let me in or what?' Kaylee said, breaking Skyler's train of thought.
'Oh, yeah...' She moved aside and when Kaylee was in she shut the door.'Come on lets go up to my room and party up there.' Sky led the way and once in her room sat on her bed.
'So, what do you want to do?' Kaylee put her stuff down as she asked.
'Umm, watch movies, paint nails...the normal stuff.' she smiled and watched Kaylee pull out her straightener and plug it in. then her hair spray and black nail polish.
'You could have used mine you know?'
'Oh I know, but mine is better' Kaylee turned and looked at Skyler
'Eh, I thought mine was just as good..' Skyler smiled, rapping her hands around her legs, she felt a little queasy and really tried, even though she got up not two hours ago. She stifled a yawn and looked back at her friend who was looking in her mirror pulling her blond hair out of her pony tail and straightening it.
'do you know what i think we need?' Skyler asked.
'No? What?'
'Music!' Skyler bounced off her bed and went over to her cd player. popping in a burned cd she made and pressing play.
the first song started playing 'If Everyone Cared, by Nickleback'
Kaylee laughed a little and Skyler looked over.'Good choice, I haven't herd this song in a while'
Skyler laughed a little too and walked back over to her bed she took a step and studdenly pain shot through it. She immeadetly reach down and grabbed it, letting at a gasp of air.
'You okay?' came Kaylee's voice. clearly concerned
'Uh, Yeah. I just stepped on it weird.' She limped over to her bed and pulled up her sweat pant leg, while Kaylee wasn't looking.
She saw a large purple mark, and her ankle swollen.
'Shit' she mouthed. pulling it back down.
