It really was hard to get some quiet when you were in love with a vampire. Bella knew that all too well.

Everything was always so tight, so rushed, so hurried. Between becoming a vampire, which she wasn't quite ready for, and getting married, which she wished would never happen, Bella had no peace.

And yet today, even if it was at four in the morning, she was offered quiet.

She knew Edward would not approve if her being alone in a very public, flowery field, so she hadn't called him while he was in the Dominican Republic. Apparently, he was checking out spots for their wedding, coming back in between trips all around the world

And the fact that no one was there to save her did not cause Bella any discomfiture. Anything to relax.

Bella thought the meadow to be beautiful. She found it especially gorgeous today since it had been wet with the thunderstorm they had had only a few hours ago.

The brunette wondered how something could be so whimsical. True, the muddy ground made her shoes almost unrecognizable and the dew made her look like she had wet herself, and sometimes she sat a little too close to the doggy doo. But she loved how it made her feel. It was very hard to be relaxed.

And yet, here she was, calm and composed. Bella closed her eyes and then opened them. Nothing changed. Wonderful. She didn't usually have to pleasure of that.

And as she mused, she realized that she almost missed the hustle and bustle that came with Edward.

"Actually," Bella said to herself, "I miss Edward."

So maybe, just maybe, she liked the craziness and preening that came with Edward and Alice wedding, even though marriage was something she could do without.

And Bella got herself off the ground, trying to ignore the wet feeling on her backside.

Because once she went onto her next move, Bella would have to take herself away from her sanctuary.

She buckled herself into her truck and revved up the motor.

Bella pressed a few buttons and heard a dial tone for around half a second. That was how quickly everything moved.

"Hello?"

"Hi Edward, it's Bella."

And her interlude was over.
