I hope that everyone is having a great Christmas Holiday!!

I have checked under the tree and in my stocking...nothing! Oh well, I still have my Leonardo Christmas ornament. :)

T'was the morning of Christmas and I was the first out of bed.

Joy still in my heart at what my late night company had said.

The boys would be up soon, so I settled down with some tea.

It wouldn't be long and we would celebrate Christmas as a family.

I couldn't wait to see their faces and I was sure they wouldn't mind,

That the table was set with what food I could find.

A few of their favorites and a gift most people won't eat,

A fruitcake for dessert, for them, would be special treat.

And the packages carefully placed under the tree,

Will fill four little hearts with so much glee.

I heard a thump, followed by three more,

And four sleepyheads peeked out of the bedroom door.

"Good morning, my sons," I greeted as they shuffled to where I sat.

I was a father and comfort to them…not just an old rat.

One rubbed his eyes sleepily, one gave my robe a tug,

One wanted a cuddle and the other a hug.

I picked them up and held them near.

I snuggled them close to tell them that "Christmas was here."

Their little eyes lit up as bright as can be,

And four little bodies raced to the Christmas tree.

I couldn't help but laugh as they wriggled around.

Excitement and happiness in every sound.

I handed them their gifts with a huge grin,

And stood back to watch them dig in.

With a collection of gasps, a whoop and a yay!

My boys gave me a hug and hurried off to play.

I sighed contently, my boys were good, and I had no fear.

This was a Merry Christmas, and Santa would be back next year!

Merry Christmas everyone!!
