Disclaimer: I don't own the Underland Chronicles… sigh….

A/N: Okay so this is just a random bit of underland-ness. I kind of like it, though….

So yeah… Please read and review and read my other story Day of Reckoning!

Thanks,

Lee

He collected the large leaves placing them hurriedly into the curve of the giant lizards tail.
Cold sweat.

He gathered water from a nearby spring, hands shaking making him spill some. He carried the bowl back and laid it near the leaves.

Hot blood.

He pulled out his pack of dried moss that was perfect for bandaging. It soaked up anything liquid like a sponge. Her cries brought him back to her.

Blinding Pain.

He shook as he sank down next to his wife, her belly swollen with their future.

Twisting.

The lizards frill guarded and shaded them as she moaned with the new pain. He held her hand as she arched up, a mother not yet. She relaxed somewhat in his arms begging him to make it end. He was begging the same thing in his head.

Knowing.

She told him that it was coming. He believed her.

Pushing.

He watched as she transformed from a girl into a woman; a woman into a mother. She was beautiful.

Joy.

He knelt beside her, feeling her sobs as she held their happiness. Hot tears rolled down his face as the baby began to cry lustily to the world, telling everyone of his birth.

Pride.

His son was perfect. He had his mothers hair and eyes, with a strong cry and tiny fists. He kissed his wife as she cried, a mother at last.

He choked out a name that suited the baby quite well, "Hazard."

His wife looked at him recognizing the hisser word, "The awaited joy."
