Ficlets: One - Roy and Pam
Roy isn't as bad as everyone tries to make him out to be. He does notice the little things.
Everyone seems to think he's stupid when it comes to Pam. The warehouse guys make fun of his lack of class, the office people give him shifty eyes, glancing at him when they think he's not looking. They think he doesn't understand her, but he does, really. You can't know someone for ten years and not understand them. Like when he comes upstairs to pick Pam up and her legs are crossed, he knows he got to whisk her out of there. Pam with crossed legs means she's irritated. It means she cannot wait to get out of the office, away from her desk. It means she's had a bad day, probably that she had a disagreement with something Michael was doing. (Arms and legs crossed means she fought with Halpert. Fights with Halpert always seem to irritate her the most.) But back to the point. He's not stupid. So when he walks into the office and Pam is sitting with her legs crossed, he brings her home and does the little sweet things she's always asking him to do. He makes her dinner, he rubs her shoulders, he watches her favourite shows with her. Because he loves Pam, really. Just sometimes he forgets to show it.
