Summary: Yusuke's last mission had gone horribly wrong, seeking redemption Yusuke goes on one last mission; guardianship. Yusuke never though that protecting someone would be this hard, when thrown into a world he never knew existed.

RRgirl: this is my first story, so if you don't like it, then don't read it. Also I haven't decided parings yet, so I'm open to suggestions, and I'm still working on the plot, so suggestions would be nice.

Chapter One: Prologue
The sound of hurried footfalls broke the silence of the night. A black silhouette of a person ran down the alley, frantically searching for an escape route. The figure turned abruptly, allowing the moonlight to stream across his form. He was strikingly handsome: with dark brown hair--almost black, cut a bit shorter than shoulder length; luminous honey brown eyes, a straight nose, and two lush--but firm--lips. His figure was muscled, but also lean, and built like a fighters.
The young man, who looked about no older than eighteen years, swiftly ran back to the entrance of the alleyway. Heavy footfalls and shouting could be heard coming towards the entrance of the alley. The young man faltered, panic seeping threw his body, as his pursuers we're nearly upon him, and he had no where to hide. Panicking as he swiftly ran down the alley once more, intent on escaping. Stopping suddenly as he noticed a brick wall, he eyed it uncertain, but as the shouting drew closer, he dashed to the wall, groping it, in search of a hand hold.
The young man's hand suddenly brushed against a suitable hand hold, tightening his grip on it, the young man slowly began to steadily scale the wall, as the ear-splitting roar of a giant creature pierced the night air. The young man's pace quickened as he climbed faster, trying to get away before his pursuers caught up. Suddenly an eerie unnatural blue light shone on him. His pursuers had caught up, and another ear-splitting roar filled the air, as a giant blue phoenix filled the night sky. For the first time ever, Yusuke Uremashi felt fear engulf him entirely, right down to his very soul.
