I was brainstorming ideas for drabbles or small one-shots so I started listening to some music. When I heard "Raise Your Glass" by Pink this idea just popped in my head! I wasn't going to write but it was picking at me too much. lol So here ya go! Short and simple. Enjoy~
Disclaimer: I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's or the song in which this was inspired by.
Jack and Crow stood at a table across the garage. The schematics for a new bike lay on the table, forgotten. Their attention rested on the exchange of their two friends at the other end of the garage.
The exchange was simple and ordinary to any normal observer.
It began with Yusei moving his focus away from the bike that he was working on at the time to the young girl sitting on a stool less than 5 feet away. He called her name then asked for a specific type of wrench. Aki looked up from the small book on her lap and began to rummage through the toolbox on the floor. She grabbed said wrench and handed it to her friend with a simple, "Here." The young man gave her a quiet "Thank you" and they both returned to their own tasks.
Simple and ordinary? No. Jack and Crow were not normal observers. They knew better. They noticed.
They noticed that Yusei had stared at Aki a little while before calling her name.
They noticed the softness in his tone.
They noticed that as Aki passed the wrench to Yusei, their fingers lingered one second longer than normal.
They noticed that Aki sounded near breathless as the two stared directly into each other's eyes.
They noticed that as the two turned away, they both had small smiles and faint hints of a blush on their faces.
"Those two need to get a clue." Crow said bluntly as he raised his bottle water. Jack raised his coffee mug slightly in agreement. Taking sips, both men looked down at their neglected schematics.
Goodness, I love this couple.
