Age 7:
Nico's best friend was a girl. Her name was Hazel. They pretended that they were related. They weren't really, though.
Age 8:
Nico and his real sister Bianca moved to a different school. At first it was a new, fun experience.
Age 9:
The school wasn't all that fun. The assistant principal was mean to the students.
Age 10:
A boy named Percy took them out of the school. Nico thought Percy was his hero.
Age 11:
Nico couldn't stay mad at Percy, even though it was his fault Bianca was dead.
Age 12:
Nico was helping babysit a few girls. They were looking at pictures of male models. "Isn't he cute?" one girl asked. Nico agreed.
Age 13:
Nico learned never to express his feelings about boys. People would make fun of him. Boys were supposed to like girls.
Age 14:
Nice finally realized he liked Percy. Percy finally realized he liked Annabeth. Nico was heartbroken.
Percy ran away. Annabeth was heartbroken. Nico ran away. No one cared.
Nico saw Percy on his travels. Percy didn't remember Nico.
Nico found Hazel. Hazel remembered Nico.
Annabeth found Percy. Nico was even more heartbroken.
Annabeth and Percy were lost. It was Nico's job to save them.
Nico saved them.
Nico watched as Percy and Annabeth kissed.
Nico confessed to Percy about his love for him.
Nico waited to be shunned. Instead, Will Solace ordered him to spend time with him.
Nico knew he was supposed to like girls. But Will Solace was perfect.
And he thought so too.
