"Are you sure we should do this?" he asked, glancing over at her. "You're absolutely sure? Because if you let me have this, there is no going back if you change your mind. That'll be that, and there will be nothing you can do."
Quinn nodded, grinning a little at the look on his face. They'd been talking about it for quite some time, and he'd been pushing for it, while she'd been a little resistant. Mostly because she didn't know anything about those sorts of things. Or…she knew a little bit, but not as much as he did. She was confident that it was the right choice, because he was confident that it was the right choice.
"You're not just saying that because you know I want it, are you? Because if you don't, we don't have to…" he trailed off, turning a little so he was facing her more, as she sat, perched on the edge of the couch.
"No, I've been thinking about it, and I do…" Quinn trailed off, reaching for his hand. "Because I know how happy it'll make you. And because I know it's something you've wanted for a long, long time. And I love you."
"And you're secretly kind of excited about it too, right?" he asked, grinning a little, as her features lit up in a grin of their own, as she nodded.
"I am," she admitted. "I'm really excited. It feels like the start of our little family growing, and then our family is going to grow some more, and I'm just…Artie, I love you so much. And I'm really excited. And not just saying that because I know you want it."
He grinned, reaching over and pulling her closer, eventually guiding her to his lap. "I love you so much too," he said, before kissing her neck. "And you being excited just makes me even more excited. I'm going to phone first thing in the morning and make the arrangements, and then before you know it we'll be good to go!"
The following morning, Artie placed a call, and that afternoon, after he got off work, they went and picked up their puppy, a chocolate lab puppy that they named Bailey.
