I do not own Robin, Stafire, the space monster, or anything else Titan related. If I owned them, Robin and Star would be a couple. (everyone go awwww)

If Robin and Starfire had not been interrupted by the space monster in Stranded.

"And you do not mind having a friend that is a girl?" Her beautiful green eyes watched me intently as I searched my brain for the proper answer.

"Mind it? Actually, I think it's pretty awesome," I said.

Why were the only words I could find in my head to describe my feelings 'cool' and 'awesome'?

"Then why was it so strange when Cyborg mentioned the girlfriend?" Now her eyes were shining in the firelight, making my heart dance about a million miles a second.

"Well, uh –" I felt the hairs on the back of my neck prickle. "It just, um, took my by surprise, that's all." I tried to smile reassuringly, but felt that all I could manage was a small up-turn at the sides of my mouth.

"Robin, I feel that our relationship is very special. You were my very first friend when I came to earth, and you taught me all about earthen ways. You gave me a chance to live in happiness here. Although I know how I feel, I am still unsure of how you feel. So please, tell me whether you think we have the special relationship."

"I know we do, Star. You're my best friend. You've always been there for me when I needed someone. You remember when Killer Moth was going to let those mutant moths loose in the city and I had to take his spoiled brat of a daughter to her prom?" She nodded. "Well, the only reason I was able to get through that night was because you were there with me the entire time. You were there for me, not only that night, but after every fight we had with Slade. You were the one who kept me from becoming completely insane in my rage toward him. If it wasn't for you, I don't think I would even be here today."

Her eyes had filled with tears, and one of them slowly ran down her cheek as I finished this speech. I reached out a gloved hand and gently wiped the tears away.

"We do have that special relationship, yes?" She said, sniffing hard to keep from crying.

"Of course," I said, taking one of her hands and squeezing it.

"Then," She hesitated. "Then do you not consider me a girlfriend?"

I felt my forehead break into a sweat. My heart was thumping so loud that I was certain it could be heard on the other side of this alien planet.

The truth was that I would like nothing more than to have Starfire as my girlfriend. But how was I supposed to tell her that?

"Uh –"

Why wasn't she my girlfriend? Now that I thought about it, I realized that every time we had been alone, I had tried to find a way to tell her how I felt, but had chickened out at the last minute. Now I had the perfect opportunity.

"To be completely honest, I have no idea."

I took both her hands in mine.

"Starfire, I care about you more than I do anyone else in the world. Will you be my girlfriend?"

OK, everyone picture one of those funky little anime-ish scenes. Is Starfire floating about a hundred feet off the ground? Yeah. Is the space around her all covered with red hearts and pink, yellow, and white flowers? Thought so. Are her eyes shining and her smile the largest part of her head? Knew it. OK, the anime moment's over. Back to the story…

"Yes."

I leaned in and kissed Starfire on the cheek. She seemed to glow with happiness as I drew away, smiling.

BANG!

The space monster crashed its way into our cave, its eyes filled with madness.

"Ready to save the world?" I asked, smiling cockily.

"That would be glorious!"
