Jeff closed the front door behind him for the first time in nearly two weeks and fell back against it, throwing his keys in the general direction of the hall table. He rubbed a hand down his face tiredly as he called for his husband, surprised at not having an armful of him already.

"Adam, sweetheart, I'm home! Where are you?"

"Upstairs – bedroom!" Came the muffled response.

Jeff groaned as he stood up and felt the familiar ache shoot down his legs from his matches over the last few days. He left his suitcase by the door and walked upstairs slowly, already opening his shirt in anticipation of his husband's greeting, expecting to find his blonde lover in an interesting position in their room to make up for not being at the door.

However, when Jeff entered the room he found his husband sitting up in bed, fully dressed in a few layers of clothing with his hair tied in a tight bun at the back of his head. Adam turned away from his book to to look at his husband with a smile on his face.

"How was the flight?"

Jeff was confused by his husband's behaviour, not only did Adam not like wearing his hair up as he said it 'pulled on his scalp'; he was never one to miss an opportunity for sex with his long-haired lover, he would never chose a book over Jeff – not even during an argument!

"Fine thanks" Jeff began slowly, walking towards their large bed. "You okay babe?" He asked cautiously.

"I'm fine Jeffy" Adam flashed a smile at his husband. "Well I'm a bit tired, I was just waiting for you to get home - night darling!" Adam leaned over to the beside cabinet, depositing his book and turning off the bedside lamp before rolling away from Jeff, who was still stood by the bed with his mouth hanging open slightly as he was shocked by the elder. Jeff shook his head before walking around to the opposite side of the bed and turning Adam's light back on, causing the blonde-haired beauty to open his eyes and stare at him accusingly.

"What's going on, Adam?" Jeff asked, sitting down on the edge of the bed and reaching for his husband's hand. "You never ignore me, especially when I haven't been home in two weeks! I've missed you." Adam pulled himself up to lean against the headboard, staring down at the crimson sheets. "What's wrong Addy? I'll make it better, I promise."Jeff finished quietly, kissing his husband's hand.

"I'm just…" Adam started. He collected his thoughts before continuing. "I'm worried about being pregnant, Jeffy." Jeff lifted Adam's face with his hand, staring intently into his eyes, clearly worried. "Don't get me wrong, I want to have children with you" Adam started quickly, hoping to sooth Jeff's concerns, before continuing "but I just don't want to get fat!" Adam pouted adorably.

"I don't want to be bloated and I don't want to lose my figure and my hair's already getting greasy and I don't want you to see me get ugly…" Adam began to cry loudly, tears falling thick and fast, so Jeff pulled him into his arms and began rocking him gently.

"Shh baby, don't cry about silly things" Jeff cooed softly into Adam's ears, stroking his back reassuringly.

"Silly things!" Adam exclaimed, pushing Jeff away. "These are legitimate concerns Jeffrey and I…"

Adam was interrupted by a firm kiss against his lips and as Jeff pulled away he was laughing softly.

"'Legitimate concerns'", Jeff scoffed. He cradled his husband's face as he whispered to him.

"You could never be ugly, angel."

Adam's tears dried up instantly at the pet name and he smiled brightly at his lover, leaning forward once again to capture Jeff's lips fiercely.

"So, did I make it better?" Jeff asked, still stroking his husband's back and holding him close.

Adam grinned and moved to rest his head upon Jeff's chest.

"You always do."
