A girl sits in the corner
Tears glistening off her cheeks
Rolling down her chin
To hit the ground with a sickening plop
It makes his stomach twist
Seeing her like this
Crying for a lost cause
For a person that hurt her
His own eyes water over her foolishness
But he won't shed a tear
Instead he walks to her
Presents the girl with a gift
Saying it's from the person that hurt her
Just so she would stop crying
So he could see her smile
And the way her eyes lit up
It's only after that he feels frustrated
Because she thinks it's from her mother
When really it was from him
Atleast she keeps it close to her
The hair clips are precious to her
Just as she is to him
The boy that sits in the corner
Gazing at her with dying hope
That she will notice him.
