Prompt - Snow
An Axis Powers Hetalia Drabble
Lyn Archer
Russia sat in a bank of snow, a rifle clutched tightly to his chest. It was quiet… More quiet than he'd witnessed a long time. He shifted slightly, the snow falling off his shoulders. My, he certainly had been sitting there for a long time to allow the snow to pile up like that. Shifting slightly, the blonde country stretched his legs out. There was a tingle as the blood began to circulate again. Another shift, this time he was standing up.
Looking around, all he saw was blood and snow. A smile crossed his lips. Those who knew Russia knew what it meant. That smile took a more sinister look. Upon closer examination, one would see the various limbs sticking out of the otherwise innocent snow. He began to move through the snow. It was time to go back. Back to those who waited for him.
People were idiots for trying to take what was his. No one touched his property. The bodies in the snow were evident of that. Russia chuckled. That simple noise was too loud in the vast wasteland he was in.
Lithuania … His sweet, sweet stable one. He was always there, always polite and prepared. Whenever he was sick, Lithuania was there with tea and a cold cloth. The smile softened just a bit. "Toris…" his voice was low and a bit hoarse. How long had it been since he last used it?
Stopping in his tracks, Russia looked up at the sky. The clouds were grey and threatened snow again. He reached up, wrapping his long scarf around his neck again. The ends of the scarf where stained red. Was it the blood of those he'd killed, or just something else?
Looking back, Russia smiled, the smile once again becoming more than just happy. Violet eyes that normally held laughter were dim with despair and longing. There was a trail of red in the snow form where he had walked. "Dosvedanya….*"
*Goodbye (formal)
