A/N: this is just a little one-shot about Johnny and his girlfriend, Nick. You don't have to read my other story to get this, it's just a random one-shot.
Warning: there's lots of fluff.
I don't own The Outsiders. I own Nick and the plot.
Read and review!
We lay down under the stars, not saying anything.
I looked at the boy lying beside me. The boy I loved, and trusted with all my heart. The boy I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, and have a family with.
He looked at me, and I saw everything in his eyes. His love for me, his trust, that he would do anything for me. I also saw the hurt and pain he's been through, the fear of his father.
"I love you," I whispered.
"I love you, too," he said, "more then anything." Now, I looked in his eyes, and I saw love. There was no denying it. That it was the truest thing he'd ever said.
I smiled and took his hand. I looked back up at the sky, the stars were shining brightly.
I saw him staring at me, out of the corner of my eye. I looked over.
"You are so b-beautiful," he told me. I blushed. I thought it was adorable the way he still stuttered around me, how he still got nervous. I couldn't imagine why, I don't deserve a guy like him.
"No, I don't deserve you," he said. Did I say that out loud? I must have.
He leaned over and kissed me softly on the lips. It was sweet, like our first kiss. It reminded me of how much I loved him.
One thing I couldn't understand is why his parents beat him all the time. He was just so sweet and caring, and put others before himself.
He cut into my thoughts. "What are ya thinkin' about, Nicky?" he asked. I loved it when he called me Nicky; it makes me feel special, no matter how stupid that sounds.
"It doesn't sound stupid," he told me. Was I speaking out loud again? I really need to control that. "I don't think you know how special you are to me," he told me. I rolled over to face him, so I was lying on my side. He did the same, and looked into my eyes.
"You're the one who understands me best, and I can trust you with my life…I-I never met anyone as great as you," he said and blushed. He was so adorable when he blushed.
"You're really adorable when you blush," I told him, blushing myself.
He chuckled. "You, too."
He pulled me close, and nuzzled his face into my neck. I could feel his warm breath on my skin. I cuddled closer to him.
"Johnny," I began. He looked up, and propped himself up on his elbow, still facing me. I did the same. "You mean a lot to me too, you make me feel safe and loved. I love you more then anyone and I don't know what I'd do if something happened…" my voice broke, and I stopped talking. I can't imagine what I'd do if I lost him. I tried to stop my tears from flowing, but a few rolled silently down my cheek. He brushed them away, and caressed my face.
"Shh," he pulled us up to sitting positions, and pulled me into his lap. I put my head on his shoulder. "Nothin's gonna happen to me," he promised. "It's okay, love."
It made me cry harder, because he called me love. I just didn't think I deserved someone as perfect as him. I don't know what's gotten into me lately, I cry all the time. I must be going crazy.
Eventually I stopped crying and we lay down again. He started a fire and we both drifted off to sleep, holding each other.
A/N: sorry if it was corny. I just wanted to show you guys how much they meant to each other. I might not have made it very clear in my other stories, so I wanted to make sure you all understood.
So please review! And please no flames, this is the first fluffy thing I've ever wrote, so sorry if it's crap.
Stay gold,
