Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter.

"This is silly," Hermione argued. She dug her heels in the ground in a futile attempt to stop Draco from dragging her to the ice rink. "Why can't we just stay in the lodge and drink hot chocolate?"

"Because ice skating is fun. Watch," he said, gliding easily onto the ice. He quickly skated around the rink and ended with a flourish in front of Hermione.

"Nice," Hermione smirked. "You almost looked like a figure skater out there."

Draco flushed. "Well, actually-"

"No!" Hermione gasped through giggles. "I cannot believe Draco Malfoy was a figure skater!"

"Hey, it's a very demanding and physical sport, okay? Now, come on, this isn't about me." he protested, ignoring Hermione's snickers. "It's about you learning how to skate. Have you even skated before?"

"I used to do it all the time when I was little, but I haven't skated since I was ten," Hermione admitted, cautiously walking towards the ice.

"Once you learn, you never forget. It's like riding a bike," Draco reassured her.

Hermione took a deep breath, stepped out on the ice—

And promptly slipped backwards. Luckily, Draco caught her before she hit the ice.

"You lied," Hermione groused, her struggles to stay on her feet forcing her to cling to his arm.

"Well, for most people it's easy," Draco chuckled as Hermione scowled.

"I want to go back on the ground where I don't have to worry about falling on my face," Hermione complained.

"Don't give up now! I won't let you fall. Just push off and glide," Draco coaxed.

"Don't let go," Hermione whispered, clutching his arm tightly.

"Never."

A/N: This was originally supposed to be posted on Valentine's Day, but I—ahem—got too busy doing important life things (cough—Winter Olympics—cough), but anyway I figured one day late isn't too bad, right? Hope you enjoyed and please review!
