A.N... This is my first ever story that i've written so if people can read and review then i may have the courage to carry it on. Thanks.
I hurriedly parked the car in the first spot I saw and ran along the pavement, past the grocery shop and stopped in front of the chemist. Ignoring the pounding of my heart – which I was sure, was not from the running– I pushed the door open with shaking hands. I briefly glanced at the products on the shelves until I found the reason for me being there. Grabbing the first package I saw, I rushed to the counter, already taking out the money from my purse. The queue seemed to take forever and the overhead clock wasn't helping much with its ticking. Finally my turn came and I put the money and box down on the counter. It was only a teenage girl at the counter, which was probably the reason of my agonizing wait. She didn't even look up as she put the box into a bag and asked for the money, "£3.49, please." I dropped the coins onto the counter, grabbed the bag and left without even waiting for the change.
I raced down the road, not even wondering what other people were seeing – a mad women most likely. I wasn't in the right frame of mind to care. I don't know how I got back to the house without killing myself or anyone else for that matter, but I was sure there were a few close misses. Already pulling of my jacket, I opened the front door and let myself in. There was no need to panic just yet, I thought to myself as I threw my jacket and purse onto the kitchen table and ran up the stairs with the carrier bag. I locked the bathroom door behind me and opened the box with fumbling hands. I followed the instructions exactly as they told me to. 3 minutes later, I picked up the white stick from the sink, already dreading the result. All it took was one glance and before I knew it, I was hurling up the contents of my stomach and slumping over in a dead faint. The last thing I remember was seeing those two words that made my blood run cold. You're pregnant
