It was a boring day in the clubhouse- Nigel was off on some super secret mission, Abby was at a concert, and Hoagie was flying his plane. That left me alone…with Wally. My face burned a crimson red blush as I thought of the Aussie playing video games in his room. How to get his attention… aha! I walked over to the kitchen, taking out dough, sugar and more. I quickly baked the sugar cookies that were shaped like hearts. No, that would make me seem desperate. I quickly threw them away and make chocolate chip cookies in the shape of circles. That was better. The smell of the rich chocolate made me smile happily. For two reasons- one I LOVED chocolate, and two- it brought a cute Aussie from his bedroom. He smiled and rested in his chair as I took the cookies from the oven.
"Hey Kuki, you made cookies!" we both laughed at his corny joke. I handed him a cookie and he accepted it.
"Mmm! These are good! What's in these?" he asked.
"Oh you know…chocolate, sugar…" I shrugged.
"No secret ingredient?" he teased.
"Nope!" I smiled.
"Then why do they taste so good?" he asked, examining the cookie.
"Because they were baked with love!" Where had that come from!
"What!" Wally choked on his cookie. He tossed it in the garbage can. "I'm not eating your cruddy 'love' cookies!" he stormed back to his room. I sadly walked back to mine.
LATER THAT EVENING…
I walked out of my room forlornly to greet my other friends. I stopped by the kitchen to get a glass of water… and noticed that the cookies were gone. In their place was a note.
Dear Kooks…
Thanks for the cookies. I loved them.
-Wally
I smiled at the note. Who would've known that cookies could say so much.
