Baby Issues

Jace wasn't sure how long he's been standing on the doorstep of Magnus' loft apartment. However, he sure as hell knew why. It's been well over a month since the last time he's seen his parabatai visit the Institute, and at least 3 weeks since he's seen Alec at all. He would be lying if he said this didn't bother him at all. If it didn't, he wouldn't be standing here.

He tried calling Alec multiple times (aka. Several times a day), but no one answered. It obviously had something to do with Magnus, Alec's boyfriend, so the most logical thing to do was to go to the high warlock himself, since that's where Alec currently lived. Most days, it didn't bother him enough to have him come banging on their door in the middle of the night, but today was different. Since Alec hasn't been involved in any shadowhunter business recently, he wasn't aware that a dragon demon (which are believed to be mostly extinct) was located near New York. Jace was really excited about it, and knowing Alec - who's secretly a geek and probably knows more about demons and demon languages and what not than Jace and Izzy put together - he would be even more excited. But, he wasn't answering the Phone.

'' Magnus!'' He found himself shouting now, banging on the door for Raziel know's which time.'' I know Alec is in there so open the goddamn door!''. There's a moment of silence disturbed only by Jace's breathing and the far away sounds of the busy city. But nothing else. Jace sighs, turning to pace down the steps ready to give up, when he hears the distinct sound of the door locks being unlocked and then in the doorway stood Alec. Or at least he thought it was Alec, because the man was covered waist-up in what seemed like some sort of green substance (which, despite the fact Jace seen his blood-brother covered in blood, demon juices and all that glorious stuff, still looked more disgusting). Jace could only guess it was baby food, because there, on his hip, was a baby. In fact, they were both covered in it, clothes and faces and hair, but where the baby was laughing, Alec was scowling.

His expression softens just slightly when he see's Jace, but he was obviously tired and didn't feel like talking because all he said was,'' what do you want, Jace?''

Jace didn't say a word, completely forgetting the reason why he came, not knowing what he's supposed to say. Alec sighs and re-adjusts the baby, which was now staring wide-eyed at the young man standing at the door.'' listen, Jace. I'm kind of busy right now, so if you could just go on and sa-''

He doesn't finish the sentence and just stares at Jace, who has just taken his phone out and taken a picture of his friend, grinning like a madman. Alec's stunned expression was turning more and more into an annoyed one.'' Jonathan Wayland Morgenstern Lightwood Herondale, I suggest you delete that photo right now-''

But Jace wasn't listening. In fact, he was no longer standing where he stood and was closing the gate, jogging slightly down the street whilst sending the photo to everyone he knew that knows Alec, with the other screaming and the baby laughing behind him.
