I got this idea sitting in my living room listening to stand by Rascal Flatts
Lindsay walked into her apartment, she's been pissed all day. Earlier today Stellas apartment caught fire and, then she tried to get Danny to have lunch with her but he made up all these excuses for not wanting to go. She remembered Steven; one of her ex boyfriends, gave her almost the exact excuses and three weeks later she found him cheating on her. Now Danny's doing it to her.
She could smell another woman on him not sure who, but she found out. Thats for sure.
FLASHBACK
Lindsay walked into her shared office with Danny. He was sitting there going over his case file. "Hey Danny how are you feeling?" Lindsay asked him, when he looked up at her she could see it in his eyes, the hurt, the pain, the regrett, the sorrow.
"Linds can we not talk about it right now I'm not in the mood."
"Ya." She paused, then continued. "Hey did Flack come over last night like you said he would?"
"No he called and cancelled, then Rikki stopped by..." After he said that Rikki stopped by her heart stopped beating she knew exacly what happened; even if he didn't want to admit it or ignore it. She felt her heart break physicaly. She looked at him in pure horror. He stood up.
"Linds it's not..." Danny started.
"Save it."
"Do you want some coffee?" He asked trying to change the subject.
"No." She didn't mean it so sound so snappy, so she added "Thanks anyway." Danny looked horrified, he knew exaclty what was going through her head. SHIT! He thought to him self.
"Look Linds..." Lindsay held up her hand to show that the conversation was over.
"Don't even Danny...I don't want to hear it."
"Are you going to even let me explain myself?" Danny asked.
"No I'm not. You cheated, you deal." She got up and left, but before she could leave she turned around. "Your gone. I'm the one left to pick up the peices." On that final note she left, not even to look back at the hopeless look on his face. She knew that if she didn't get out now, she never would.
End Flashback.
She really hated the position he put her in. He cheated. Thats not something she could live with. Evidently he could though.
Walking into her kitchen to make her some dinner, Lindsay stops and turns on the radio, listening to the local country music station. A song she hasn't listened to since living in Montana came on. Stand by Rascal Flatts. Listening to the lyrics she realized this is exactly whats going on with her and Danny.
