"They fought. Merlin, did they fight. And we won. But they are not here to share the win. Because they fought defending it.
So many friends. So many people. So many bodies.
Remus Lupin. The last marauder. The only one of my family left. And it just wasn't me that he fought defending, it was his son too. Teddy. Cut little boy. I've said it many a time, but I'll say it again to him, every year, "Your dad fought for hope, and he died defending it."
Tonks. Clumsy, yet charming.
Fred Weasley. Prankster extraordinaire.
Dobby. A true friend, a free elf.
Colin Creevey. Dennis Creevey. Brothers to the end.
Severus Snape. A true hero.
And fifty unnamed. Those unnamed will not be forgotten. As the days grow old, and in the going down of the sun, we will remember them.
We will remember those who lost their lives protecting us, protecting the future.
We will remember them."
Harry Potter stepped down from the podium gathered at the site of the Final Battle.
Amidst his friends and family, he remembered.
