Prologue
The castle lay silent now. I look around the ball room and see everyone I love there on the floor laying in pools of blood not moving not breathing.
The exiled Slayer, my best friend, laying on her side by the double entrance doors. The first to go trying to stop the threat trying to protect my family like she had always done. Her Lover, my friend, and high Monk next to her arms outstretched hand in her hand. I look to the right and see him on his back his long white hair all around him, turning red from the wound on his head from being thrown across the room into the wall. My first love, my friend, my family. Tears fall from my eyes running down my cheeks, so warm against my cold skin. I squeeze my eyes close knowing if I look ill see others. I open them again to know, because I have to know, they deserve the respect for me to look at them, to know that they sacrificed themselves to keep me and mine safe.
To my right about a foot away laid my son, his auburn hair shielding his face, hiding the greenest eyes I've ever seen. I call out his name but he doesn't answer, he doesn't move he's so still like he just got tired and plopped down on the floor and went to sleep. I wished him pleasant dreams.
I looked behind me and there what I saw broke my heart in two. My love, my life, my mate, my everything laying so still. I rise on my hands and knees, muffling a painful moan as I move toward him. Then I feel a weight on my back, the size of a small foot shoving me back to the floor. I turn and my watery blue eyes look into cold dead brown ones.
"How could you do this? We loved you, we trusted you!" my scream echoes throughout the room.
A small smile spreads on her lips before she speaks, "You know why I did this, I have nothing because of you, you took my everything so I took yours." she walked around to my side kicking me in the stomach as I try to rise again. " He was mine. MINE! You took him from me like you always do like you have always done but no more. You will never be with him again not in this life or any other."
With that she left leaving me alone. I got up once more and crawled to my brave warrior laying down beside him I moved his silver hair revealing his perfect face. As tears fell down my cheeks I made a wish to the goddess to give us another chance, to bring us back to each other life after life till we can be together again. I placed one last kiss on his still warm lips and curled up next to him. Closing my eyes and waiting to wake up to see his gold eyes looking at me once more with love shining in them. I would wait forever for all eternity to love him just for moment…
