Okay, this was a super-secret late Christmas gift for Beth. I already wrote her a Kacy story, but I know Nacy is her end all, be all for JONAS. This is short and not the greatest thing I've ever written, but I did promise Beth I would write a Nacy, and I always thought this song fit the pairing.

I'm probably never going to write another Nacy, so don't hold your breath that this is a new era for me. It's a big, huge gift to one of the greatest people I know, who has managed to keep me sane while I was ruthlessly pounding my buttons on my keyboard over AIM in tears because school or friends or parents just absolutely sucked.

So thank you, Beth. This one's for you.

For the way you changed my plans
For being the perfect distraction
For the way you took the idea that I have
Of everything that I wanted to have
And made me see there was something missing, oh yeah

Nick always liked the same type of girl—musical, usually blonde, driven, fairly quiet, sort of girly.

Which was why is was so surprising when he realized he was falling fast and hard for Macy Misa.

She was not the kind of girl he usually went for and he had no idea how to handle it.

She was so different and he was at a loss for words. He, Nick Lucas, was at a loss for words.

This wasn't good.

For the ending of my first begin
And for the rare and unexpected friend
For the way you're something that I'd never choose
But at the same time, something I don't wanna lose
And never wanna be without ever again

Macy was a surprisingly good friend, once you got past the crazy obsession she had with him and his brothers. That wasn't something he really expected. He should have known, given her staunch loyalty to Stella and her willingness to help rid Joe of Fiona Skye.

It was just that he saw her crazy side so much that he didn't really see anything else sometimes.

You're the best thing I never knew I needed
So when you were here I had no idea
You the best thing I never knew I needed
So now it's so clear, I need you here always

He kept his attraction to Macy a secret, choosing to write songs about her instead. He felt like that was the safest choice. He wouldn't have minded telling her, but her possible reaction was cause for concern.

But there was no denying that his crush on Macy was really quite excellent for his song-writing skills. It was probably the most successful bout of songs he had ever come up with.

My accidental happily
Ever after
The way you smile and how you comfort me
With your laughter
I must admit you were not a part of my book
But now if you open it up and take a look
You're the beginning and the end of every chapter

He wrote songs about her smile and how she could zero in on anything that was wrong and fix it with a joke and a funny face.

It was ridiculous he told himself, how much he now cared for a girl he never really gave a second thought to, except how to escape from her and now he wanted nothing more than to be with her all the time.

Who knew that I could be
So unexpectedly
Undeniably happier
Sitting with you right here, right here next to me
Girl, you're the best

As much as he loved Macy's joy of life and her constant happiness and her boundless enthusiasm, Nick most enjoyed the moments where she was calm and cool and collected as they hung out in the atrium. She would be throwing a ball in the air and catching it in her glove effortlessly, while he wrote songs she was unknowingly responsible for inspiring.
