Competition
This is the sequel to Insomnia, which I know I posted a while ago. It's a one-shot about Theo's reaction to Casey and Lily's moment on the balcony. Read and Review!
When Theo got up that morning he was in a grouchy mood. He had been awake since he heard Casey getting up at around one in the morning for a snack. When the red Ranger didn't come back five minutes later, Theo decided to go check up on him. To his surprise, Casey and Lily were sitting on the balcony. Using skills he had mastered back at the academy, he snuck up so that he was just under the window and pushed his ear against the wall. He had always known RJ's walls were thin as paper, especially at night when the master would snore. But thanks to those paper-thin walls, he had heard the entire conversation.
Theo also knew that when Casey told Lily he was just thinking how beautiful it was outside, he meant Lily. Theo may have been a neat-freak, organised, do-it-my-way kind guy, but he was still and guy, and he knew when the new kid was hitting on his best friend.
On his way to the fridge to get his glass of orange juice, Theo bumped into Casey, now was the perfect chance to tell the mighty Tiger what was on his mind.
"What was that?" he asked. Casey looked down at the blue boy and frowned.
"We bumped into each other. Sorry," Casey said. Usually when he and Theo would run into each other, which would happen a lot when they worked, they would just apologize and move on, but Theo seemed a little edgy this morning.
"No, I mean last night! What the hell was that?" Theo snapped.
"Okay, I'll just leave so you two can have a room," RJ said, getting up from his chair to go down to the restaurant.
"RJ!" the boys yelled.
"Don't be late to work cubs!" the master said back before disappearing.
"What did you really mean Theo?" Casey asked. He turned back to the blue Ranger and frowned.
"I saw you and Lily last night, and I heard everything, what the hell was that? I thought you were trying to fit in, not move in!"
"What were you doing listening to our conversation and what the hell does that have to do with moving in?" Casey asked, obviously not getting the point.
"You and Lily! You're trying to take her away from me!" Theo explained.
"Now what would give you that impression?" Casey asked.
"'I was just thinking about how beautiful it was out here,'" Theo mimicked, exaggerating Casey's voice just to mock him.
"So what, I'm not allowed to admire the night sky?" Casey pretended he didn't get the point. Maybe if he acted this way long enough, Theo would leave him alone.
"You were hitting on her and you know it!" Theo retorted.
"So I'm not allowed to hit on your best friend?" Casey asked.
"That's not it!" Theo yelled.
"I give up Theo," Casey groaned, throwing his hands up in defeat. Both boys stormed into different rooms completely shocked that the other would do something like that.
Lily, who had been sitting on the couch the entire time, looked from one door to the other in confusion. "What the hell was that about?"
