Titles.
I am Alphonse Elric
The Younger brother of The Fullmetal Alchemist
These are the titles I hold, they are not as much as my brother bear, the ones that I forced him to bear, I have one more that I have chained myself with, one filled with guilt.
Currently I am sitting outside the office of my brothers superior, Colonel Roy Mustang, the Flame Alchemist, being very anxious Waiting for the my brother to deliver his report so we could leave, and continue our search.
"So Alphonse." It's Lieutenant Hawkeye. "So your back already, how's Edward, are his injuries any better?"
She pauses, smiling kindly.
"You know Alphonse you and Edward should not get in so much trouble, one day your going to get seriously hurt" she says suddenly stern
I'm about to reply when I hear Brother yell.
"WHO ARE YOU CALLING A RUNT SO SMALL YOU COULD DROWN IN A MILLILTER OF WATER!?"
I shake my head at my brother's antics and the lieutenant carries on.
"At this rate you'll kill yourselves "
I look at my hands. Both cold metal, and I wish suddenly that I could cry.
Ed. My older brother or rather, the shadow of what used to be my strong cheerful older brother.
Now because I am merely a soul trapped in armour, he forces himself into more desperate attempts to return my body, first he gave his arm then he went through the pain of automail surgery then he became a state alchemist when he was only twelve and he still tries.
I knew it was a bad idea for us to try human transmutation the world's greatest taboo. Even for our mother, but I wasn't strong enough to stop and my body and his arm and leg were taken as payment for our sin.
And yet he loves me, protects me, pushes himself to the limit for me, even though he should hate me for putting him through so much pain. I will get the Philosophers Stone and return his limbs even if it's the last thing I do.
The most difficult title to bear is and always will be is the title I chained myself with.
