Her Chronal Accelerator- an Overwatch fanfic
It was then that she realized she forgot her accelerator. She could see the sidewalk right through her hands, just as Winston predicted. It was pouring rain. At least she didn't start randomly teleporting yet... She felt light headed and staggered to the nearest bench. She lost her balance and blacked out, falling face first onto the wet ground.
Lena woke up on a red couch to the sound of beeping. It was more of an emotional beeping than to be at a hospital, it sounded as if it was talking in its own language⦠She was afraid to open her eyes, but did it anyway. Lena let out a surprised yelp as her breath quickened. Directly 2 inches from her face was a hovering robot that was made from blue and black metal. It gave off a cool mist and had light blue eyes. The coldness that it gave off felt nice in a way, it felt as if she was safe.
"Don't startle our guest!" a woman said in which sounded like a Chinese accent. Lena, still to dizzy to sit up, saw her walk into view. The woman was dressed in a heavy white winter coat with fur around the neck, blue leggings, snow boots, blue gloves, and a Chinese hairpin in her hair. Lena wondered why she was dressed so warmly inside.
"My name is Mei-Ling Zhou!" she said cheerfully with a small bow. "You can just call me Mei."
"Lai, Xue qiu!" she ordered as her hovering robot companion quickly flew towards her greeting Lena with all different kinds of beeping noises. She wondered if Mei actually understood it.
"I'll be right back," Mei said as she quickly walked out of the room. Still slightly light headed, Lena repositioned herself on the couch and decided to sit up. Mei's tiny robot settled on Lena's lap making her feel more comfortable in their house. As she looked around, she noticed that on the maroon colored wall there were a lot of old Chinese paintings. Fragile marble vases decorated an ancient glass table. She was surprised that Mei's spunky robot didn't break anything in the house. Before she knew it, Mei-Ling walked in with Lena's accelerator.
"H-how did you get that?!" Lena asked in shock as her heart beat quickened.
"Winston contacted me that you went out without it, and told me to pick it up for you. I went in and grabbed it, but as I was driving back home I saw that you blacked out on the sidewalk so I brought you here." Mei explained as Lena's face was flushed red with embarrassment. She handed it to Lena as she immediately activated the metal device with a switch. It started glowing light blue as she strapped the heavy contraption to her and instantly felt better.
"Thanksā¦" Lena politely said, still blushing and embarrassed.
"It's perfectly fine," Mei-Ling said with a smile, "Isn't that what friends are for?"
