Panting now became a studder to his breathing. From the doors that were located in his house only a few appeared in his vision. His eyes were heavily filled with water but he couldn't blink. Blinking meant that the tears were sure to fall and his eyesight would no longer exist. "Tobias!" Just with the sound of his cruel thick voice, his body shuddered. The steps were getting closer and Tobias would have no place to run once he was in the hands of his father. His eyes fell on the door, thinking about what if he ran away but even he thought it was impossible. Instead he moved to the closet door that seemed the most logical. As he quietly opened it, Tobias squirmed inside as he heard the steps arriving faster down the stairs and closd it the same way.
Now was the time where he had to control his breathing. The closet was small enough to take the air away from him. But it was the only safety spot that Tobias had in his house. Suddenly the footsteps got near the closet and seemed to have stopped since he heard no steps. Tobias just hoped that maybe his father would think he stepped outside. But instead, the door knob from the room began to slowly open and he knew that he was done for. There was no escaping from this. He always had a choice to hold the knob, make it impossible for his father to get him but that would make him a coward. His eyes fell on the ground, already knowing what to expect.
His father just smiled and held a belt on his left hand. "How many times have I told you not to run away from me. You know how that upsets me." Without having a word to say, Tobias nodded. A sharp sting hit his face as he was slapped with the belt. "Yes, sir, Tobias." He stumbled a grunt as he held his face with his hand. Now he finally blinked and the water fell. "Yes, Sir." Sure his voice croaked but it was still firm. "Come out of that room. You pathetic coward." With the feeling of his hair being grabbed, Tobias had no option but to follow the movements of where he was being thrown. Soon the wall was against his cheek and he collapsed on the ground. He was staring at the floor when he heard the next few words. "This is for your own good." And the sharp metal hit him again.
