I found this emotional tribute to LOZ and so I had to write something. this is just a rough draft and I will be expanding on it later x3

I am everywhere, the rivers, streams, mountains, forests, deserts.
I live in everything, I am everything.
Watching over this land that I have spilled blood for,
Time passes by in the blink of an eye.
I try to tell it to wait, I try to get it to slow,
but time's flow is something that not even I can fully control,

An eye for an eye,
Peace for my life,
Long ago have I replaced my tunic for armor,
To be the princesses sword and shield,
To give my life so that she may live,
The arrow meant to pierce her heart,
Went through my eye instead,

The hero has fallen,
I gave my life for the one I desired,
But we could never be,
Pride is what I had felt,
When I held your ancestor in my arms,
Sadness when I peered up to see your mother,
How I wished it was someone else,

So long I have felt cold,
With no warmth of my own,
Nothing to lighten my dark world,
Every year I cry to the moon,
The world falls silent to my weeping tune,
I stand over the grave of the one we failed to save,
My sacrifice was not enough to change her fate,

I howl the tears I can't cry,
To show the heart that no longer beats,
So the world can see into a time that has long since passed,
Everyone begins to forget about the hero of time,
An unsung figure in history,
The era of the hero of time,
Slowly becomes a blurry peace of history,

Centuries pass, my presence slowly fading,
I stand with pride watching over everything still protecting everyone.
No one knows of the sacrifices and the youth I have given up,
the time I could have had with a family I left for duty,
For a princess I could never have,

Time once gone can never come back,
Life lost can never be returned,
But still I stand with pride,
protecting my blood and the one I let go,
Still I howl to the moon,
So everyone can have a glimpse of a forgotten time,

My time has come and gone,
My secrets lost to them all,
The goddesses sensing my plight,
Left upon the earth one source of light,
Howl where you hear my voice,
Howl to the stones and join me in limbo,
To learn how to be the hero that runs in your blood,

I am not dead nor am I gone,
I see you and I can see I am alive,
I live in you,
My blood flows through your body,
Your heart is as noble as the wolf within,
Through you I live on,
Through me you learn to be the hero,

As I stare down at you child,
I can see the same fire that burned within me,
The same desire to destroy your enemy,
But wait, there is more to your fate,
Once you draw that sword it belongs to Hyrule,
You will become a tool,
Our lives are destined to end young with nothing we can do,

An eye for an eye,
Peace for your life,
Adorn the green of your fate,
Take sword in hand and boldly face your future,
Protect the land and the one we are destined to love,
But can never have.
