The Green-Eyed Monster:
"Jealousy doesn't look good on you, Mom." Edward smirked.
I'm not jealous… I breathed, but I knew my son wasn't buying it.
"I just, don't see why they still flirt with him, even after sixty years. He's Married, to me!" I said as quietly as I could, so the flustered Nurse at the desk couldn't hear me.
Edward and I were both waiting for Carlisle to get off of his shift. If I try to kill one of them, Edward… Don't hold me back.
He chuckled slightly. "Sure thing, Mom."
"Nurse Louisa, please may you check on Mr. Bennett in room three-zero-four please. I'm just leaving." Carlisle leaned over to the youngest woman, who almost dropped the chart she had been holding.
"Of course, Doctor Cullen." She stuttered; the blood rushed to her face and she turned the deepest shade of red I'd ever seen; her heart rate raced.
I decided this was the moment for me to crush her dreams.
"Esme…" Edward warned.
"Just a little fun." I grinned, and walked over to Carlisle. "Hello." I gave him my sexiest smile.
"Hi." He pressed his lips to mine and I felt all of the Nurses eyes burning into the back of my head. I turned to them all.
"Hi, I'm Esme Cullen. Doctor Cullen's wife." I waved at them, not wanting to hold out my ice cold hands.
"Uh-Hi." Each of them stared at me with highly-disappointed eyes.
"Are you ready to go?" I asked Carlisle, he nodded and I linked my hand with his.
"Bye, ladies." I said politely, so Carlisle wouldn't guess my plan.
"What a bitch." I heard one of them mutter, Carlisle pretended not to hear it, but I turned around and smiled. "Nice to meet you too."
They were left with dumbfound expressions on their faces, probably wondering how I heard them.
"Nice." Edward laughed as we left the building.
"Thank you." I smiled, then turned to my husband. "They were… Interesting."
He merely chuckled in response. "They hate you. I can't read minds and even I can tell."
I felt a strange glow of satisfaction in my stomach. "They won't go near you again. If they do… well let's just say… Yum yum."
Edward rolled his eyes. "You wouldn't have the guts."
"Wanna bet?"
