Kotonoha's Wish
"Warren-sensei, is there a way for me to be a Rider like you and Ryuji-kun?" Kotonoha asked.
Before Warren could answer, Ryuji interrupted and objected, "You don't need to become a Rider!"
Kotonoha looked at him oddly, "Ryuji-kun?"
Ryuji wore a firm frown on his face as his eyes narrowed. He repeated, "You don't need to become a Rider."
"How come?" she asked him curiously, wanting to hear his reasons.
"You don't need to fight because you have me already," he answered. "I made a promise to always protect you, even at the cost of my own life."
Kotonoha gasped silently at that confession.
"That's why you don't need Rider powers," Ryuji continued. "You don't have a reason to gain them."
"Really?" she asked.
"Yes, really," he answered firmly.
"So, if I am ever in danger, you'd risk yourself to save me no matter what?"
"Yes."
"No matter what?"
"I am sure."
"I see…" Kotonoha nodded. "Then I have found my reason for becoming a Rider!"
"Eh!? But Koto-chan-!" His words got caught in his throat when she suddenly embraced him, wrapping her arms around him and pressing her forehead against his chest. "Koto-chan?"
"You see…I'm always putting you in some kind of trouble…whenever you protect me, you get hurt. You get hurt because of me…"
"Koto-chan…"
"I…I want power, too…" She paused. "If I did…then I'd be able to protect you just like how you've always been protecting me."
He placed his hands on her shoulders as she looked up at him. She then rose up on the tips of her toes and pressed her lips against his in a loving kiss. She broke the kiss, opening her eyes to whisper, "I love you, Ryuji-kun, and I don't want to lose you, ever."
Warren watched the tender scene with a smile. Kotonoha would definitely become a Rider with that being her reason. To protect the one she loves, she had made her decision.
She would become a Kamen Rider.
