Written for Hazuki Ninja who presented me with this challenge. I had fun and I wouldn't mind exploring this pairing a little more. though I think it will always be one-sided. :P I hope this satisfies.

Everyone has their secrets, and this was hers. Every time he came into her office, her heart would flutter, her knees would go weak and her voice would become unstable. She had what some would call a school girl crush on the boy, and as the boy grew older the more attracted to him she became.

After he turned 16 she couldn't have him in her office alone. Anytime she needed to talk to him regarding a mission she was careful to make sure that she also summoned his team mates as well. It was the hair.

Shizune once asked her what her type was. She told her that she had a thing for tall well built men with dark hair. She liked them smart. She lied. That is why Shizune always smiled knowingly when Tsunade asked Shikamaru to leave his team mate downstairs anytime she had to give them a mission. But what Shizune didn't know was that she in fact really didn't know.

Only one person knew, and that was already one person too many.

She heard him coming up the stairs two steps at a time. He only ever did that when he left his friend downstairs.

Shikamaru walked into Tsunade's office. Hands in his pocket, cigarette hanging from him mouth. The mission was successful.

Shikamaru heads for the door after being dismissed. With his hand on the doorknob, he casually turns to look at her. "When he turns 21, I will no longer leave him downstairs."

She gives him a lopsided smile. She had to grow up some day. "Understood."

Shikamaru opens the door. Tsunade calls out, "Thank you."

"Tck. Troublesome."

Tsunade watches out the window as Shikamaru reunites with his friend downstairs. Tsunade's heart flutters, her knees go weak, and she is grateful she doesn't have to speak. It must be the hair.
