A/N: Just watched 3x17 "The Jolly Roger"-and WOW the feels. It was killer. I love Hook to death and so it was a treat but it was PAINFUL. So, of course, I had to write something. It's only a drabble (just a little over 100 words) because I'm actually supposed to be studying for finals. But, you know. Fandoms before life.

No secrets, no shame. Even their weaknesses are noble.

Not like his—not like the broken bitterness that creeps into his soul whenever her light leaves him. Darkness upon darkness.

He wrought the makings of his own despair.

He lifts his spyglass to his eye—its familiar form all that is left of his seafaring life, the glimpse it gives him satisfying all that is left of his greediness.

Up close, she's even more beautiful than he remembers.

But she's farther than ever from him now.
