So, this came to mind when I heard Electric de Chocobo for the tenth time. It's short, kind of a drabble, and I don't know if it'll go anywhere but I thought I'd put it up to see what you guys thought. Let me know if I should flesh it out into a full story, okay?
Disclaimer: I do not own Cloud, Tifa, Shinra, lectures, or Chocobos! Don't you think I'd have made a "birth" certificate for them if I did? That, and Jenova would never have landed on the Planet.
Cloud loved chocobos, he really did, but he absolutely hated when people randomly mentioned how his hair looked like the back end of one. Especially when they noticed just how easy it was for him to train and breed the correct chocobos on the first try.
That's why he had decided to do all his chocobo work during night at the hidden chocobo farm with the old man who couldn't remember anything for two seconds. None of his friends knew where it was, and all his enemies could be seen for miles before they saw him and he could run for cover.
That's where he was now, at the chocobo pen patting his new gold chicobo as it chirped and kwehed in his lap. The mother and father gold chocobos were standing nearby and quietly warking at him. They knew he would care and protect the little hatchling, for he'd also taken care of them as hatchlings.
Smiling one of his rare true smiles, he picked the chicobo up and replaced it on the hay near it's parents. It was still too young yet to tell which gender it was, but Cloud had a name for both ready. Once the young one grew up, it was going to be a gift for one of his friends who had secretly wished that they could have a gold.
After making sure that the stall was filled with greens for the parents, Cloud made to leave for the night. He still had his delivery service to do, and he'd rather not have Tifa on his back again for not being there to take orders. He'd much rather be back at Shinra in the lecture hall again, then take a Tifa Lecture. She had a nasty tendency to use her fists to punctuate the important parts.
Thankfully, Tifa was already in bed and asleep when Cloud got home, so he managed to skip one of the Lectures. He went to his room and sat on the bed for a minute before deciding that he would shower in the morning. He stripped and climbed into bed in just his boxers, and fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.
