Another original Thomas story by Samantha613, this time it's "James's Jobs" Enjoy and comment.
James has a fever and his fire won't start, so his jobs go to different engines.
One day on the Island of Sodor, all of the engines were getting ready to start their jobs for the day.
However James was feeling a bit under the weather. He was sniffling and coughing and he had a difficult time moving around. His fireman examined him.
"This doesn't look good, James," said his fireman. "You have a fever, and you can't work like this."
"But who's going to do my work?" moaned James.
"I'll help you James." said Percy.
"Really? Thank you, Percy.", James said.
Then Edward, Gordon and Thomas agreed too.
"I'll help out too.", said Edward.
"Me too.", Thomas said.
"I will too.", said Gordon.
James was so happy that his friends were there to help out with his jobs.
"Thank you all for wanting to help me out while I'm sick.", James said to his friends.
"Here's all the jobs I have. Every engine can have one job. There's pulling cars, delivering items to Knapford, carrying passengers to another town, and getting some cargo onto a station on time.", explained James.
"Okay.", everyone said.
"I'll pull the cars.", said Percy.
"I'll deliver the items.", said Edward.
"I'll carry the passengers.", said Thomas.
"And I'll bring the cargo onto the train station.", said Gordon.
"Thanks guys.", James said to all of them.
They all went to complete their jobs that they were assigned.
Percy pulled the cars into the proper places in the yard. Edward delivered the items to Knapford. Thomas carried the passengers to another town. And Gordon brought the cargo onto the train station on time.
When they were finished, they completed their own jobs on time too.
They all met up later that day.
"I finished my job.", Thomas said.
"So did I.", said Edward.
"James will be so glad to hear this.", said Percy.
"I think so too.", said Gordon.
When they went to see James and tell him that they finished his jobs for him that day, he felt well again and was grateful that they all helped out.
"Thank you, everyone. You were all a great help today. It's good to have friends like you that are always there to help a friend in need.", James said to his friends.
"You're welcome, James.", they all said back.
Everyone knew how close friends all the engines were and how a friend was always there to help out another friend.
