Distant View
He watched as she gracefully danced in between the falling leaves. Her hair whipping around her in a chaotic dance. The pink hair draped around her shoulders being lifted and taught to fly by the wind. She had truly improved.
He remembered when she would tense up and freeze in fear.
He remembered when glassy saltine lines were imbedded on her cheeks.
He remembered protecting her, countless times, jumping in front of her when the enemy would draw near.
He would then pull out a kunai, for he made her battles his. He doubled his load, protecting her innocence and fragile heart from the horrors of battle.
Looking back at it now, it was ironic really. He being the one who tried so hard to protect her. Always there when needed, yet he was the one who shattered her. He was the one who jaded her and left her with more glassy saltine lines imbedding her cheeks then even his apparent death had caused her in the wave country. He would never let her know, not in this life at least, but she affected him far too much. Those saltine lines, he didn't like seeing them on her. Her vibrant smile that made her jade green eyes sparkle with mirth suited her much better. But then again, these were his thoughts not hers… she would never know this. For he was not allowed to give her more hope. He had already hurt her far too much. He needed her to be strong and hate him. So that she could live and laugh when he burned in hell.
The raven haired boy smirked as a soft green enveloped her hands as she once again ducked and spun. Continuing in her dance. As she finally reached the enemy avoiding poisoned senbons and kunai she barely touched him before his lips parted in a silent scream and fell to the earth. Her dance suddenly stopped and the boy hidden on the sidelines away from her view let out a relieved sigh. She was a hunter. Strong, swift, graceful and silent. He needed not worry anymore. She would live, till he could correct his wrongs. She would grow stronger through him…
Then as she turned around surveying the surroundings, he let his eyes bleed read. Red and black looked at her from afar. He engraved her image in his mind, because she could never know that it was the sight of her that kept him sane. She was his anchor, and this image of her in her silent and deathless grace would give him hope. And he prayed that she too would stay strong and grow, for losing her would destroy him. So he watched from afar till he would be ready, and he knew that maybe they would finally be together in their next lives. Because nothing would ever keep him away from her.
And for the first time in a long time the youngest Uchiha smiled when the wind came and touched the pink haired girl lifting her hair to the heavens, and silent promise that she was blessed. Because she was his angel…
