A/N: hey peeps! Well..it's late and I'm bored so this is going to suck! Enjoy anyway!

Eragon sat in the protection of Saphira's wings, engulfed in sapphire light. He looked down at his hands, and noticed they had a blue tint to them. "hmmm." he thought. "Just like my mind." it was the morning after Arya's rejection, and Eragon could feel feel dried tears on his face.

"Are you alright little one?" Saphira asked through their mental link.

"You should know I am not!" He snapped, he was in no mood to talk.

Saphira's wings closed in on Eragon, stopping just before the rider was crushed against the dragon's scales.

"I was trying to make conversation." She growled "I know you are upset about Arya, but you should of expected it!" Saphira's words hit Eragon like a slap in the face.

But they also brought him out of his trance, his trance in which he thought it was Arya's fault. When in truth, it was his.

"I'm sorry Saphira." He said, somewhat ashamed of himself "Will you forgive me?"

"Aye, just try to keep your head."

"I will, and you were right, I am upset."

"But you must have been expecting it, she is almost 100 years older than you, she is an elf, and you are the last free dragon rider. What drove you to express your feelings?

"I think it was the blood oath celebration, but that does not take the truth out of my words, I meant every word I said."

"I know you did. I just do not know if it was the wisest decision to tell Arya...But I love you little one, that will never change."

"I love you too Saphira." He said as he hugged her leg. "I am going to meditate, I think I could use the peace."

So he stretched out his mind, toughing everything around him. He felt 3 rabbits in a hold about a yard away. He felt a snake, bathing on a rock. And a bird in a nest, that was chirping. Eragon felt the birds hunger, and he was not sure if it was the birds or his own. Eragon came back to his body and realized that he was hungry.

"Saphira, can you fly me to our tree house? I think I should eat something, even though I don't feel like it."

As an answer she drew her wings to her side, and allowed Eragon to climb into the hollow in between, her neck and back.

Eragon stomach did flip flops, and Saphira climbed higher and higher into the air. Eragon looked around taking in the sight, and it was calming. Looking over the land was calming, because there was no sign of war, as if war wasn't real. But it was real, more real than anything because it brought out peoples true nature, which is evil and mean. But there are some that are not like that, the kind ones. The ones who would rule after Eragon killed the king. And Eragon kept that thought on his mind, determined to leave the night before behind him.

A/N: …..Like I said, I'm bored and it's late...Sorry. Please only constructive criticism.
