The Hat Takes A Break!
According to the legend we've all been told,
Hogwarts is over a thousand years old.
Built by four founders at the start,
Of course Salazar played the vital part.
They made the houses, one for each,
And chose which subjects they would teach.
Selected students for their own,
The wizard ways they were shown.
These are the founders and what they stood for,
Read Hogwarts: A History if you want to know more.
Hufflepuffs are total fools,
Abiding to all the rules.
Ravenclaws are just as bad,
Trust me, I know; they're all plain sad.
An idiot is a Gryffindor,
Most can't even squeak, never mind roar.
Last great Slytherin, the one and only,
Founder not to be a phoney.
He was brave, sly and true,
Qualities in some of you.
So, new Slytherin friends enjoy,
Play with Hogwarts like a toy,
Test the Dark Arts if you wish,
Sample as though a tasty dish.
I won't sneak, I won't tell,
Take this promise and use it well.
Torment that Potter and the Weasleys too,
To make me extremely pleased with you.
Annoy other the houses my serpent friends,
This is where my hat song ends.
Wasn't it quirky, wasn't it great?
Now get to bed, it's getting late!
