Chapter 1
The Rivers
Somewhere of the coast of Florida, in the middle of the woods, stood a tall mansion of a house. In this house lived a peaceful family of five. "(Coughs) Saif! Wake up!" It was my brother, Alyaan Rivers. "Oh, please don't be dead!" sobbed Sara Rivers. "Wha…." I sat up on my bed and to my surprise; a black smoke filled the room. I won't say what happened next, but there were a lot of hugs involved. "Mum? Dad?" I choked. Alyaan shook his head. Tears rolled down our cheeks. "We'd better go now! The window, perhaps?" asked Sara, "The mountain gear." We strapped ourselves to a rope, tied one end to the bed, and cautiously slid down. An owl hooted. We ran, ran like there was nothing left of us in this hell of a world for us, which was kind of true. We entered a clearing and collapsed on the ground, cries were let out by us too. Sara rested her head on my shoulder. We then, after an hour, went over to a nearby river. Sara was injured despite the fact she always seemed to be in good shape. She was a twelve year old with a British accent, like the rest of us. She loved water, like the rest of us, loved the beach, like us, and we all were excellent swimmers. I was an eleven year old, liked horses, like the rest of us, but most of all, we loved waterparks on a hot sunny day. Alyaan was a goldenish black haired boy of thirteen." What happened?", I asked. "The fire, it …." She left it to hang in the air." Water", I thought. I scooped a handful and poured it over her burn. She made a sour face but other than that, she was fine. To our surprise, her burn had vanished! A figure emerged from the water. It was a water-lady thing with lily pads for a dress. "Welcome, royal ones, to my humble river." "Stay away from them!", Alyaan charged. "She ignored the warning and turned towards me and Sara. "Tell your brother to not be afraid and that this nymph has come in peace.", she said. A water nymph? Sounds familiar. "Wait a second, you are a water nymph and I'm guessing that your master is Poseidon?" "Yes, your father, that is correct." "Our fathers name is Nicholas Rivers!" "That is merely a statue in which Poseidon is programming."
