If only…
Prologue: If only… you had told him
"The final goodbye, Rose?"
She looked at the man she had tried to love with all her heart, the man she had to leave behind.
She nodded slowly, she wanted to cry but she couldn't. She was so excited about what had happened that she maybe just didn't realize that these words where the final words she could speak to him.
"I'm sorry, John, I'm terribly sorry…" she answered and turned to her mother, who stood behind John. It was a curious thing that her mother wasn't furious, normally she would have been terrifying furious if her daughter decided to go away forever.
Then the young woman reminded herself that Jackie Tyler wasn't her mother, never had been her mother and that this woman was a liar.
"You knew this… all the time…" she said to Jackie and tried not to sound too angry or hurt.
"I promised not to tell you till you reached the age of thirty", Jackie Tyler answered and something similar to regret was in her eyes and in her voice as well.
"I could have stayed with him if only he had known…", Rose said coldly and turned to the next person, Jackie Tyler's husband. Maybe the only one she still liked as he was the one who was helping her back in her own world.
"I thought this way was the better one!" Jackie cried out but Rose acted as if she hadn't noticed. It was too late to turn back the time, five years too late.
The man she had once considered as her father nodded slowly and handed her a strange looking sort of device, it was her way back in a life she thought she'd never live again.
She thanked him, turned to face those humans she had considered as her family for quite a while, now she knew that she would never have a family again as her true family died long ago.
She tried to smile at them one last time and then she pushed the button of a dangerous red color and felt the time and the space moving around her, carrying her back home.
