You find yourself running down a long, dark hallway in the middle of an abandoned hospital. With each step you take, you push yourself forward as fast as you can, nearly forcing your legs to move faster than they have ever moved before. You start to run out of breath. Your body is begging you to stop for a split second, just long enough so you can catch your breath. You ignore your body's pleas and inquiries, and continue to push yourself beyond your limits. 'It's survive or die," you think to yourself, 'Anything to get away from that…thing.'

You keep turning corners at a frantic rate; desperately trying to put as much distance between you and that monster as possible. You aren't sure where these twists and turns will take you, but you decide to take your chances nonetheless. With every step you take, darkness starts to descend upon you. It becomes harder and harder to see what is ahead of you with each passing step.

You start to become paranoid. Each corner you turn is just another opportunity for that thing to show up and take you; but you keep running anyways. You keep telling yourself that the exit is just around the corner. "It'll all be over soon enough," you think to yourself desperately, "It'll all be over, and you'll never have to deal with him again."

Unfortunately, lady luck seems to be laughing at you in your hour of need. Before you know it, you're trapped in a small, dark room with no windows, and no other way out. You don't want to turn around; but you hope that if you time yourself just right, you might be able to get out of there without running into that thing.

Slowly, cautiously, you turn around; and at that instant, your worst nightmares have been realized. There he stands. Motionless. Standing right in front of you. All at once, your mind begins to race, and your heart starts to pound in your chest; and all you can do is just stand there, frozen in fear. You try to move your legs, but they don't cooperate with you. You try to think of something, but you realize that it's hopeless; this is the end.

Standing there, dressed in a suit as black as the night, he stares at you; unmoving, and unwavering. His pale white skin sends shivers down your spine, and his featureless face is enough to make you break down into hysterics; but the unexpected is only yet to come.

Suddenly, the slender creature turns his attention towards you, giving you a menacing look with his nonexistent eyes. And just when you think it's all over, it suddenly speaks to you, saying the last words you will ever hear in the rest of your short-lived life: "Will you read me a bedtime story?"
