This is a really old thing I wrote as soon as I started shipping Apritello, but I didn't have an account then, so I couldn't show the public. I wrote this before April started her training, so she's just plain non kunoichi April. Enjoy! :-)

April paced the Lair, waiting for her friends to return. She was worried about them. She hoped they weren't dead or gravely injured; they had been gone for hours.

The turtles had gone up against the Shredder that night. They were determined to take him down once and for all, so that they would be safe from at least one of the things threatening their existence. She wanted them to come home, unharmed and well.

And so she paced, back and forth and back and forth across the Lair, waiting. Her heart beat loudly in her ears, ringing through her head and quickening her oxygen intake. She tried to calm herself by taking deep breaths, but they continued to come in short, shallow ins and outs. She quickened her pacing, hoping that the speeding up of her legs would take her mind off of the fight her best friends were in to protect themselves and their father.

Not ten minutes later, the redhead lifted her vision from the ground at the sound of turnstiles being turned. Tears filled her eyes as she saw four beat up, but intact turtles.

She let out a sharp breath of relief as the tears began streaming down her cheeks, and she filled with happiness. "You're okay!" she shouted. She ran to them, crying her hardest since her mother passed. She flung her arms around Leo, then Mikey, then Raph. She turned to the final, purple clad turtle, and faltered. Donatello opened his arms, a gesture for a hug like she had given his brothers.

She gave him so much more.

April crashed into him, standing on her tip-toes as she threw her arms around his neck, and pressed her lips to his. She closed her eyes as he tensed up a little, but the mutant soon wrapped his arms around her waist, kissing her back.

She had wanted this for months. She had realized she had feelings for Donnie not too long before; he was her best friend. She had always felt something special for him, but the redhead had never been able to pinpoint it until just a few months prior. When he had gone into battle, with a high chance of dying, April didn't know what to do. She wanted to stop him, to kiss him before he left, but she hadn't the courage.

Now that she had been filled with relief, she hadn't been thinking, and just did it.

And she didn't have any regret.

When she pulled away, April saw that Donnie was blushing, but smiling, and she turned to his brothers, who all had stupid grins on their faces. She smiled as well, as if there were no worries in the world.

Just how I thought they'd share their first kiss, that's all. That's why it's so short. Thanks for reading! Reviews are always appreciated!
