ARGOST LIVES!

Munya read those words and his heart sank. If only all the loyal watchers of Weird World could learn the truth. But Munya kept it to himself. Let Argosts legions think the same of him as he did. Something amazing.

Munya turned away from the graffiti strewn wall and walked down the lonely city street. He'd been on his own ever since his master defeat. His home was still the Weird World mansion, but the house was cold and lonely now. Not much of a home. So Munya would wander far and wide, not caring which way he went or what he did.

In some places he came to, he would find little alters and shrines made for his Argost. Such things touched the poor mutants heart. He would take a flower or some other trinket from the shrine and bring it back with him to the mansion, to add to the growing collection he was putting together on Argosts death site.

He felt it would do his master well to see that his fans still adored him, even if they didn't understand just what he had tried to do.

At night, when Munya would lay awake in his old room; he could swear Argost was there. But then his common sense would come back and he'd shrug it off.

"Munya..."

The former servant shot up in his bed. Did he just hear that? Was that real?

"Munya. I am here..."

No! He hadnt imagined it. Argost was here. He was alive. Leaping from his bed, Munya followed the ghostly sound of his masters voice down into the dungeon. To the place he imploded into nothingess.

Once there, Munyas eyes were greeted by the glowing spectre of Vincent Vladislav Argost, floating above the shrine he had made for him. The mutant servant fell to his knees and began to cry. Argost drifted down to his old friend and held him in his arms as he wept.

"Hush now, mes amie. I am here with you now." said Argost into Munyas' hair. "My current state is somewhat difficult to explain. I believe I'm a ghost. Or something to that effect. I've only now gained the energy to manifest. It was from the shrine you've made." Argost made a sweeping gesture toward the collection. "All that positive energy you gathered gave me the strength to return."

Munya got up from the ground and took his masters hand in his. But Argost stayed where he was, not following his servant up to the mansion like he expected.

"Oh, my dear Munya. I fear I cannot leave this place. I am trapped in my place of death. Forever."

Munya refused to believe that. The spider man begged of his master, what was he to do to free him from this place? What must he steal, who much die so that Argost may live again? But the cryptid hushed his servants pleas with a kiss. The same sweet kiss Munya used to receive in the darkest parts of the mansion, away from the world.

"I am content to remain as I am. I feel that this is to be my penance for a life of misdeeds. In the end, the villain lost his war, and now I will stand here forever in death to bear witness to my final defeat." Argost took Munyas hand in his and lead him down onto the floor, sitting face to face with one another.

"Will you stay with me, my faithful servant? Until the day that we might be united in whatever after life awaits?" Munya raised Argosts hand to his face and nuzzled into it, feeling the essence of Argost warm his body.

"Yes..."

It was the least Munya could give to the man who had given him everything in the world.
