"Wood? Who in their right mind would make a spaceship out of wood?"
"Manners, Anakin." Despite the firmness in his master's tone, the padawan couldn't but help get a grin of satisfaction out of Obi-Wan's disbelieving expression.
"It's not wood – it's a chameleon circuit, or as you would call it, a cloaking device," clarified the pilot of the strange craft: a tall skinny man with side swept brown hair, a strange suit with a cloth tied around the neck – "It's a bowtie!" he had exclaimed. "It's cool!" - Not to mention a rather mischievous grin on his face.
Anakin huffed. "It's not a very good cloak… I can still see it. Doesn't that defeat the purpose?"
The strange man turned to face the younger man, his mouth opening and closing while looking for an answer. "Yes and no…" He paused. "It's rather broken, I'll give you that… but I'm always able to find her."
Obi Wan glanced at the blue wooden box, rather unsure of the Council's decision to allow this strange man to pilot their mission. The smiles on Master Windu and Master Yoda's faces as he left the Council Chamber lead him to believe that this wouldn't be any ordinary mission. He walked around the sides of it, taking in its small shape.
"Pardon me, Captain, but are you sure you have enough room to accommodate us and our supplies? I don't mean to impose but it seems that a ship of your size-"
The strange man held up a hand as he reached the door of the blue box, a twinkle in his eye. "Master Kenobi, I can assure you without a shadow of a doubt that my ship can accommodate all of your needs. There is always room on my ship…"
The two passengers walked in, mouths open and eyes wide in wonderment. The man grinned as he saw the younger of the two men whisper to his master, its bigger on the inside… "Welcome to the TARDIS, Jedi. I'm the Doctor by the way. Bathrooms are the down the hall, fourth door on your right and your bedrooms are… well…" He ran up the stairs to the control panels – which were unlike anything Anakin had ever seen – and turned back to face them. "There around here somewhere. We'll go look for them later."
"Now." He turned to face the two Jedi with excitement in his eyes. "Where do you want to go first?"
