Phantom Paragon Chapter 1
(Post PP, before the Signature Story Arcs)
(Same series as Phantom in the Bund?): Danny ends up in Paragon City, (The City of Heroes!) and has to help its heroes fight the villains, who want Danny and his powers on their side!
"That's weird," Positron said, taking another look at the instruments in the base of the Freedom Phalanx, tapping the screen a couple times. "These reading can't be right!"
"What can't be right?" asked Synapse, sticking his head through the door into Positron's lab. "Did your project to help War Witch become physical again hit a snag?"
"No, that's actually going pretty well," Positron said. "It's the sensors I installed to monitor portals being opened between our world and Praetoria, so we wouldn't be caught off guard if Tyrant tried to send in a stealth force. Take a look at these readings."
Having said that, he pulled up a digital readout on the main lab screen, and highlighted a certain section.
"Um, Positron," said Synapse with a puzzled look on his face, "according to this, a gateway to a dimension completely foreign to us just spat something out, and that's only if you accept that the data seems to suggest the forces involved are apparently somehow violating the laws of physics (and magic) as we know them!"
"I know," the armored hero said, scratching his bald head in confusion. "Could you get someone to go out with you to check it out? I'll stay here and keep an eye of the instruments; maybe check with the head of Portal Corp to make sure it's not just a glitch."
That was how, five minutes later, he was racing towards the site of the dimensional breach, with Statesman flying high above him, looking for anything out of the ordinary, even for Paragon City with its superheroes, demon and death worshippers, renegade automatons, and symbiotic shape shifting alien energy beings.
When they arrived, they found no traces of an army, dispelling their fears that it was a Praetorian invasion. They were about to leave when Synapse noticed a shock of black hair under a bush. Pulling it back, they saw an unconscious or asleep teenage boy!
"Manticore," Statesman called over the team radio link as he lifted. "Set the teleportation system to bring me back to base, we have a civilian I'm bringing along who may be injured! Synapse will stay here and keep an eye out for anything out of the ordinary."
Then a bright light appeared around them, and when it vanished, they were back at the Freedom Phalanx HQ! The sensation of the teleportation caused the boy to stir, and the defender of humanity quickly rushed him over to Numina, too distracted to notice the blue wisp that came out of his mouth.
"Is he OK Numina?" Statesman asked with an anxious tone. She took a quick look over of the boy, then, about got ready to use her powers to heal him, ignoring the weird feeling she got around him, he opened his blue eyes…
